ive noticed that you complain about not having photoshop, so i thought i'd help you out a little. theres a great program called Gimp. it was designed for unix systems but its been ported to windows. its freeware under the GNU. its available on download.com. you'll need some various supporting components, but its just as capable as photoshop and doesn't cost $700+. hope i helped a little.
